DIXON COUNTY CONVENTION & VISITORS BUREAU TOURISM

ADVERTISING GRANT APPLICATION

Revised July, 2018

The Dixon County CVB disperses funds generated from Dixon County lodging taxes through grants.  Grants are awarded to applicants, whose intent is to promote tourism within Dixon County. Grant applications need to be submitted at least 60 days in advance of the event.  The Dixon County Convention & Visitors Bureau will evaluate grant applications quarterly (March, June, September, and December).

Current board members are:
Val Bard – Wakefield; Kathy Boswell – Allen; Jeff Fields – Ponca; John Wortman – Newcastle

For your convenience the board has developed the following process:

  • A minimum of 60 days prior to the event individuals, organizations, non-profits, municipalities, or boards can request a grant application from a Dixon County CVB Board member or online.
  • A minimum of 60 days prior to the event complete and return the application form which contains:
    • A description of the event
    • Your promotional plan
    • Total project costs and other funding sources
  • Dixon County CVB will meet quarterly (March, June, September, and December) to evaluate applications.
  •  Applicants will receive a response from the Dixon County CVB board indicating approval and amount of funding or denial.
  • All grant recipients must use an appropriate by-line, which states:  Event funded in part by a grant from the Dixon County Convention and Visitors Bureau.   This needs to be on all printed material, radio ads, television commercials, or any other forms of advertisement.
  • If funds are granted, no more than 60 days following the event, a completed final report form must be submitted to the Dixon County CVB board.  The grant final report should include:
    • Brief event description
    • How grant funds were used
    • Dixon County tourism promotion specifics
    • Receipts of event financials documenting how grant funds were utilized

After submission of the final report, and following the approval of the CVB board, the county will disperse grant funds to the applicant contact person.

The Dixon County Convention & Visitors Bureau’s grant forms may be completed on-line, given to any Dixon County CVB board member listed above, or mailed to the Dixon County CVB secretary.
If questions arise, call any board member for clarification.
